For years, Holiday Cove North owners and guests have returned to New Smyrna Beach for the prime location on the ocean, the short, 5 minute walk to the excitement of Flagler Avenue, and the friendships they build. But who knew New Smyrna Beach was one of the coolest places around?
Recently, Coastal Living Magazine called NSB “Florida’s Charmingly Hip Surf Town.” They recommended a burger at Breakers (just a stroll down the beach from Holiday Cove North), shopping on Flagler Avenue, and taking advantage of the beautiful white sand beaches. The Orlando Sentinel calls our town “…a fortress for foodies.” They were blown away by the great places to go for brunch.
If you’re coming to New Smyrna Beach for the first time, be prepared to plan a second trip – or wish you had more time here. The lull of the waves beckons you from the beach right at your doorstep at Holiday Cove North. Take a dip in one of our two pools – one heated just for those (few!) chilly days. Two blocks down and you are on Flagler Avenue – the middle of everything in New Smyrna Beach. Monthly wine walks, special event celebrations like Flamingo Follies art festival, Mardi Gras, St. Patricks Day, and Chili Cookouts. Chances are you will see something special during your time here.
Any day of the year, you can have lunch or dinner at the restaurants that line both sides of the street. Or just sit on the porch at Flagler Tavern with a cold beer and watch everyone go by. When you walk down, don’t forget your wallet for the shopping along the street. From clothing to hand-blown glass to artist pottery to shells and souvenirs, there’s something for everyone.
If you decide to drive around town, head across the picturesque drawbridge and a couple of short blocks down the causeway to Outrigger’s. Head south on Peninsula and sip a specialty drink among the branches in Norwood’s  Treehouse.
A mere mile away is downtown Canal Street with even more opportunities for foodies. You can have a handmade milkshake at the iconic Little Drug Store counter, or a flight of craft beers at Half Wall  Of course, there more ways to spend your vacation dollars at great stores including Posh Pineapple, one of the locals’ favorite gift destinations. Canal Street has its own share of activities as well. Monthly car shows, craft brew walks, art festivities, and Saturday morning Farmers Market in the park.
New Smyrna Beach – or NSB as the locals (and the bumper stickers) say. It’s cool now? We think not. It’s always been that “charmingly hip surf town.” Just ask the residents and guests of Holiday Cove North – they were just way ahead of the crowd.
