The McCormick Family began vacationing at Holiday Cove North in Unit 13 from 1965 until Unit #27 was constructed in 1968. In the summer months, Doris would pack her sewing machine and check Beth and Joe out of St. Margaret Mary School to head for their summer home in New Smyrna, where she would spend her days enjoying walks on the beach and evenings cooking fresh local seafood and sewing summer clothes for her kids.
When John traveled over on weekends after a week of practicing law, he would spend endless hours on the seawall talking to other owners about ways to make Holiday Cove North a better community.
Those summers in New Smyrna Beach were among the best days of growing up.
As of 2021, the McCormick Family is one of three remaining original owners at Holiday Cove North.
